The teachers and trainers have Olympic credentials, professorships, and deep experience in their areas of expertise. Some of their courses aren’t offered anywhere else in the world.

Strömsholm has a long history of hosting top-class horse-riding events. From horse-jumping shows to national competitions.

RS Wången

Wången is Sweden’s national centre for the education and development of harness racing and Icelandic horse riding. It is part of a network of national centres whose main mission is to educate future professional equestrians in the sport and leisure aspects of today’s horse sector.

Wången’s unique educational programme has provided many successful equestrians with an international career in the horse sector.Wången’s long history has seen it come a long way since the stud farm it was in 1903, focused on rearing and saving North Swedish stallions from extinction. Today it is a national equestrian sports and research centre, partly owned by the Swedish Trotting Association (Svensk Travsport).

Wången has more than 100 horses, 120 boxes, and educates around 200 hundred students annually.

During the 1930s fine breeding stallions were bought in Wången as status symbols. In the beginning of the 1950s the demand for work horses from North Sweden dwindled.

The general interest in trotting with cold-blooded horses increased the demand for a slighter and faster North Swedish horse. In 1964, the North Swedish horse was divided up into a work horse and a sport horse breed. In 1995, the decision was made to relocate the Trotting and Cantering School to Wången.

Berga Naturbruksgymnasium

Berga naturbruksgymnasium is located in Västerhaninge outside Stockholm and is owned and operated by Region Stockholm. It is an upper secondary school but also a fully functional farm with associated stables, barn, riding stables and boarding school. Since 1921, young people have trained in agriculture at Berga, although the farm's history stretches much further back in time than that.

From the beginning, Berga was a pure agricultural school, but in recent years education in horses has also played an important role. The farm's area amounts to 600 hectares, which means that the school has a location that is unique to Stockholm County, and this only thirty minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. At Berga it is close to both city, sea and forest, this affects the school in a fundamental way.

Berga is a large school by area but a fairly small school in terms of student numbers; Today, just under 200 students attend here. The number of staff amounts to almost 50, so there are not so many students per adult at the school.

Karlskrona Lyckå Ridklubb

Karlskrona Lyckå Ridklubb was founded in 1960. At the beginning the lessons were held on the private horses that were installed, about 8-10 horses.  The club had 50-100 members and the building known today as the New Stable served as a riding stable.

Over the years, the business has developed and many famous riders have represented the club in competitions in both jumping and dressage.

Today the facility has several stables, two riding stables and large, nice outdoor courts are centrally located and easily accessible via walking and cycling paths, public transport or car.

The club is a non-profit association affiliated to the Swedish Equestrian Federation (SvRF) and the Swedish Sports Confederation (RF). The club follows the quality requirements stated by SvRF in terms of education, safety and values.
